Best Places to visit in Gangotri

Gangotri is a revered town and pilgrimage site located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. Perched at an altitude of about 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) in the Garhwal Himalayas, it is best known as the origin point of the sacred River Ganga (Ganges). The actual source of the river is the Gaumukh glacier, located about 19 kilometers from the Gangotri temple, but the river is considered to begin spiritually from Gangotri itself.
