Thai Binh is a peaceful coastal province located in the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam, bordered by Nam Dinh to the west, Hai Duong and Hung Yen to the north, Hai Phong to the northeast, and the Gulf of Tonkin to the east. Positioned about 110 km southeast of Hanoi, Thai Binh is known for its fertile alluvial plains, making it one of Vietnam’s key rice-producing regions, often referred to as the country’s “rice bowl.” The province features an extensive network of rivers such as the Red River (Song Hong) and Thai Binh River, along with a long coastline that supports fishing and salt production. With attractions like Dong Chau Beach, Keo Pagoda, and traditional craft villages, Thai Binh offers a blend of rural charm, cultural heritage, and easy connectivity to major northern cities, making it an emerging destination for eco-tourism and cultural travel in Vietnam.
