Sammed Shikharji is the most sacred pilgrimage destination of Jainism, located on Parasnath Hill in the Giridih district of Jharkhand. It is believed that 20 out of the 24 Jain Tirthankaras attained moksha at this holy mountain. Rising to about 1,365 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak in Jharkhand. Pilgrims begin their journey from Madhuban and undertake a long, disciplined trek to reach the summit. The path passes through dense forests, rocky trails, and serene natural surroundings that enhance the spiritual experience. Devotees chant prayers and observe strict rituals during the pilgrimage. Sammed Shikharji is visited throughout the year, with peak footfall during major Jain festivals. The summit atmosphere is calm, silent, and deeply meditative. The site holds immense spiritual, cultural, and religious importance for Jains across the world.
