Rasmancha, located in Bishnupur town of Bankura district, West Bengal, is one of the oldest surviving brick temples in the region and a prime attraction for heritage travelers. Built in 1600 CE by King Hambir Malla, this unique pyramid-style structure served as a ceremonial temple where idols from all Vaishnava shrines of Bishnupur were displayed during the annual Ras festival. Situated near the Bishnupur Bus Stand and just 2 km from Bishnupur Railway Station, Rasmancha is easily accessible and stands as a stunning example of Bengal’s terracotta architecture. Surrounded by manicured gardens and peaceful pathways, it is a must-visit site for photographers, history lovers, and anyone exploring the culturally rich Mallabhum region.
