Orajhar Buddhist Site is a historically significant Buddhist archaeological and pilgrimage location in Uttar Pradesh, situated in Ora Jhar village, Chakar Bhandar area, Shravasti district (PIN 271805) along State Highway 26 (SH 26) on the Bahraich-Balrampur road.This ancient site is traditionally identified with the place where Lord Buddha is believed to have performed the Twin Miracle (Yamaka pātihāriya), an important event in Buddhist lore, and may correspond to the celebrated Purvarama (Eastern Monastery) built by Lady Vishakha as described by the Chinese pilgrim Fa-Hien.Excavations here have uncovered cultural layers dating from the Kushan period (1st century AD) through the Gupta and medieval eras, highlighting its long historical significance.
