Mandar Hill, also known as Mandar Parvat, is a sacred hill located in the Banka district of Bihar. It holds great religious importance in Hindu mythology and is believed to be used as the churning rod during the Samudra Manthan. The hill is associated with Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, and ancient footprints of Lord Vishnu are worshipped here. Mandar Hill is also significant in Jainism, as the 12th Tirthankara, Vasupujya, is believed to have attained enlightenment here. Several temples and stone carvings are found across the hill, reflecting its ancient heritage. A ropeway facility allows visitors to reach the top easily while enjoying scenic views. The surrounding landscape is calm and forested, adding to its spiritual appeal. Mandar Hill continues to attract pilgrims, historians, and nature lovers throughout the year.
