Lehda Devi Mandir, also known as the Adishakti Peeth Lehda Devi Temple, is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site located near Ardouna (Lehda) in the Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Situated approximately 5–8 km from Pharenda (also called Anandnagar) on the Farennda‑Brijmanganj road, this ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Durga (Lehda Devi) draws devotees from across the region, including Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria and even Nepal, especially during Navratri when a large crowd gathers for darshan and festivities. According to local belief and historic lore, the site was originally known as Adaruna Devi Than and is linked to the Mahabharata era, where it is said that the Pandavas spent part of their exile and Arjuna worshipped the forest deity here, leading to the establishment of this sacred Shakti Peeth. The temple stands on the banks of the ancient Pahh river (now a nala) and is well connected by road, with the nearest major airport at Gorakhpur (approx. 80 km) and the closest railway station at Anandnagar (approx. 18 km), making it a spiritually significant and accessible destination for pilgrims.
