Jaswant Thada is a beautiful royal cenotaph located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Constructed in 1899 by his son Maharaja Sardar Singh, the monument is made entirely of white marble and is often referred to as the “Taj Mahal of Marwar.” The marble used in the structure is so finely polished that it emits a soft glow when sunlight falls on it. Jaswant Thada features intricately carved domes, jharokhas, pillars, and latticed screens, set amidst serene gardens and overlooking a small lake. The cenotaph complex also includes memorials of other Marwar rulers and a gallery displaying portraits of the royal family. Located near Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada offers a calm and picturesque setting along with stunning views of the fort and surrounding landscape. With its architectural elegance, peaceful ambiance, and historical importance, Jaswant Thada is a must-visit heritage attraction in Jodhpur.
