Dai-ka-Mahal is a historic mausoleum located in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, and is one of the earliest Islamic monuments in the region. Built in the early 15th century during the establishment of the Malwa Sultanate, the structure is believed to be the tomb of Dai, a wet nurse (dai) associated with the royal household. The monument showcases early Indo-Islamic architectural features, including a square layout, domed roof, arched entrances, and stone masonry. Though modest in scale, Dai-ka-Mahal is architecturally significant for understanding the transition of Islamic funerary architecture in central India. Set amid Mandu’s historic ruins, it remains an important heritage site for history enthusiasts and travelers exploring the medieval monuments of Mandavgarh.
