Chausath Yogini Temple is an ancient and architecturally unique temple located at Mitaoli in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Dating back to the 9th–10th century, the temple is dedicated to the 64 Yoginis, powerful female deities associated with Tantric traditions. Built in a circular plan on a hilltop, the temple consists of 64 small shrines arranged around an open courtyard, with a central shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The elevated location offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and adds to the temple’s spiritual ambiance. Chausath Yogini Temple is considered a masterpiece of early medieval Indian temple architecture and is believed to have inspired the circular design of India’s Parliament House. It attracts historians, architecture enthusiasts, spiritual seekers, and tourists exploring the heritage of central India.
