Place to visit in Berlin Wall Memorial

The Berlin Wall Memorial (Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer) is the most significant site for understanding the division of Berlin and the impact of the Cold War. Located at Bernauer Strasse, this open-air memorial stretches 1.4 km and preserves a section of the original Berlin Wall along with a watchtower, documentation center, and moving exhibitions. It offers a powerful and immersive experience into the lives affected by the wall, the escape attempts, and the reunification of Germany. Entry to the memorial is free, and it is open year-round. The Documentation Center and Viewing Platform are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while the outdoor areas can be visited at any time.
